About the film

This film is the quintessential Charlie Chaplin comedy, with a balance of slapstick comedy and pantomime, social satire, and emotional and dramatic moments of tenderness, as he crosses paths with other prospectors, a fugitive, and a gorgeous saloon maid (Georgia Hale) with whom he falls in love.

It was one of Chaplin's own favourite films, that showcases the classic Tramp character as a romantic idealist and the poster features a magnificent image of the Little Tramp making his claim atop a mound of snow
