About the film

Filmed between 1932 and 1936, it was directed, written, scored, and produced by Chaplin himself, the film sees the Tramp woefully at odds with modern technology, not unlike Chaplin trying to survive in a motion picture era complete with sound. Chaplin not only showcased his mastery of filmmaking but also addressed significant social issues, particularly the dehumanizing effects of industrialization. Due to its political undertones, the House Un-American Activities Committee falsely branded Chaplin a Communist.

This poster, with an overall-clad Chaplin in a factory setting, is one of the most iconic images to emerge from Modern Times.

Please note: this is a vintage-style reproduction print and is not an original vintage film poster.
