To promote the film, John Severson published a program called “The Surfer”, which became Surfer Magazine. The film features Tamarack, Brooks Street, Queens, Velzyland, Makaha, Sunset Beach and Waimea Bay.
John Severson was an American surfer, editor, author, filmmaker and artist, widely known as the founder of Surfer, a magazine focused on the sport and culture of surfing.
